You’ve Got Your First Blog - Now What?
After you’ve joined the NZPCS program, gone through the steps setup your work from home blog on your new subdomain, added your first post(s) and generally have the blog looking how you want it - it’s time to think about the next step.
It doesn’t matter how good your blog looks if you’re not getting the traffic to it in the first place. While the NZPCS program not only provides you with a multitude of seo blog plugins that enable you to automatically optimise certain parts of your blog, as well as teaching you some good search engine optimisation tips with things like keywords and categories etc you still need to do some manual work to really get your blog noticed.
Again one of the bonuses of the NZPCS program is that some of the software and tools your receive make this next step a little quicker and easier - while it’s still partly manual work it does save a lot of time.
One of the first things you can do is write and submit an article to the many free article directories out there - by doing this then adding a link to your blog in the resource box (using anchor text where possible) you’re quickly build a lot of inward links - not only from the article directories but also from any other websites or blogs that use your content on their site - for an example here’s some of my articles that are listed on Ezine Articles - many NZPCS members also have their own article directories so check in the forum for a list of theirs to submit to. As part of the program members also receive a free article submitter - which means you can submit your articles to hundreds of directories - while it’s still partly manual it does save a lot of time when it comes to submitting.
Another useful tool you receive free through the program is RSS annoucer - again this just makes it a little quicker to submit your blogs feed to many blog directories at once.
Then there are sites like Squidoo and Hubpages etc where you can set up one page sites to promote your blogs and other information and income streams etc
You will also find useful information on sites like OnlyWire that enables you to submit your blog pages or articles etc to 20 bookmarking sites at once.
Of course you will also want add your blogs url to your signature in related forums and try to promote where ever else is suitable
