Setting Up Your Work From Home Blog
When it comes to installing a worpress blog there are two ways to go about it - with many hosting providers nowadays by going through fantastico you’ll see it’s just a matter of clicking a button or two - it does the rest for you - from setting up your mysql database to installing the blog. For other hosts you need to upload wordpress from scratch - again this is quite simple to do and if you’re familiar with ftp programs it can be done fairly quickly. Even if you choose to use the fantastico instructions I do suggest you have a look at the instructions you can find in the NZPCS instruction site (there are several video downloads - the autoblog software also comes with an extensive video) or visit www.wordpress.org where you will find a five minute installation guide. Once you have an understanding of how to install wordpress it then simply becomes a matter of either uploading your chosen theme (in this case the NZPCS theme) or other widgets and plugins - Just make sure you put your uploads in the correct paths eg wp-content/themes etc
After you’ve downloaded your work from home blog template you then need to upload it to your server so you can change the theme of your blog in your wordpress dashboard. If you have your wordpress blog set-up this simply becomes a matter of ftping the NZPCS template to the wp-content/themes folder of your blog.
Once you have your NZPCS Template installed you just need to open your dashboard - go to presentation and then select it.
Down the track you when you start creating autoblogs etc you may want to try a variety of themes, to find some you can visit the Theme viewer where you can download a variety of different themes. You will also want to play around with chosen plugins etc - the sidebar widgets is a very handyone to have - along with the seo plugins that you’ll find on the free download page in the NZPCS Instruction site.
For members that are in anyway unsure of how to do this and would like me to talk them through it please contact my via skype (those in my team will already have my id - other members can find it in the Forum)
