Network Marketing Scam – Have You Been Caught Up?
What does “network marketing scam” mean to you?
Because of the significant amount of money you can make with this business, scammers often design schemes designed to pass as legitimate network marketing plans, thus deceiving many well-meaning home income seekers.
What are other reasons that people might have thoughts of a “network marketing scam” when they encounter a home income opportunity? Many things can come into play, but often it is a previous experience they’ve had, or something a friend has told them.
Other things happen that give this business a poor reputation.
First, people are sometime led to sign up and start a business, without being told that it really takes work and planning to be successful. Sometime, overzealous recruiters promise a lot of money for little effort. When it doesn’t happen quickly, people quit and tell others they know it didn’t work.
Another thing that happens – network marketing is taken as a lottery. Some people sign up based on the income potential, talk a few people into joining, and then watch to see what happens. When this fails to build a significant income for them, they figure it was just another “network marketing scam” and they quit.
One other thing often happens. When a new associate works hard for a few months, but has little to show for the effort in terms of money, they often decide that the business isn’t worth pursuing any longer.
The bottom line here is that building a successful network marketing business requires four things.
Take some time and choose a good, solid company with excellent products. Look for a sponsor and upline with a proven success plan in place, and a willingness to coach you on building a profitable business. You need to feel confident that these people are there to help you.
Take time to “plug in” to your upline’s success system, and follow coaching on how to be successful. Be open to learning to do things perhaps differently than what you envisioned.
Learn and follow the success plan your upline has created. Plan to try out some ideas of your own later, but in the beginning stick to the proven fundamentals.
Look at the big picture and don’t let yourself grow impatient. Realize that reaching your goals may require 2-5 years of focused effort, but the reward is a significant ongoing residual income.
“Network marketing scam” is a term often wrongly applied to perfectly legitimate opportunities by people who misunderstood the nature of the business from the beginning.

Good stuff about a network marketing scam. I will add that while some might claim that all of these businesses are scams….most are completely legitimate businesses and your success in them is a direct results of your own personal efforts.

Hi Eldon,
I agree with you that Network Marketing gets a bad rap. As a fellow Network Marketer and Internet Marketer myself, I hear these things all the time. My favorite is, “Oh it’s one of those pyramid schemes”.
There are literally hundreds of thousand of people that are currently making a very nice income through a Network Marketing Business, and it’s to bad so many people are not as open minded about it as they should be. I am proud to be a Network Marketer and an Internet Marketer.
To Your Success!
