When it comes to creating niche sites and blogs one thing you will hear regularly is that you need not only good content but the right keyword or key phrase as well.
Most people know of things like overture - a site designed to tell you how often a certain key phrase is searched for etc along with giving you a selection of related words etc.
Well there’s a really cool free keyword generator that sits as a bookmarklet in your web browser. When you’re visiting a related site you can use this google keyword generator and not only receive keywords but the adwords prices as well.
It’s a very handy tool to add to your collection and well worth taking a look at.

A new affiliate program I recently joined is Leisure Audio Books. No matter what your website or blog is about there’s bound to be a related audio book you can sell to add an extra income stream to your site. More and more people are turning to audio books (books on tape) as they either become too busy or would rather have their books in an easy to store format.
These books once downloaded can be stored on your computer, transferred to a compatible portable player or burnt to cd etc.
As an affiliate you have a huge variety of items to market, and loads of promotional tools and resources etc.

When people first consider the idea of earning from their computer they often think it’s simply a matter of signing up for a program and then waiting for the money to come it; that’s rarely, if ever, the case.
Before you begin your computer based business there’s a few things to bear in mind. First and foremost is that there is no get rich quick scheme, to truly be successful online you need to be prepared to put in some time, effort and organisation, much like you would with an offline business.
Whether you’re planning to earn through affiliate programs or paid to action etc programs there’s a few steps you need to take.
1) Read the instructions: no matter what program you join, take the time to read and understand all the necessary steps involved. It’s no use joining something and rushing to get it done as all too often if you miss one simple step you’re taking the chance of either delaying your incoming payments or worse still receiving nothing at all or getting banned from the program. If required print out the important parts and keep them in a folder close to your computer for easy reference if needed.
2) Use bookmarks: as your online business grows so too will the amount of programs etc you join - make sure as you join these programs you keep a link to the main page of each program bookmarked on your computer: A good idea is to set up separate tabs for selected categories you may have eg affiliate programs, paid emails, payment processors, your own websites or blogs etc.
3) Passwords and referral links etc: As you join programs make note of your passwords (it can be a good idea to keep a hard copy of these somewhere and/or use something like Roboform) and referral urls as you may need them. Members of the NZPCS program for example will require the referral links to their first set of affiliate programs so they can set up their own affiliate page.
4) Keeping hardcopies: In some instances it may be a good idea to create a separate excel or word etc document that lists all your website urls/passwords/handy information etc that can be printed out in case there is ever a time you can’t access that data on your computer.
As your online business grows you may come across other ways to keep things organised and easy to follow but those guidelines above are a good starting point.
As I’ve been slowly building my online business I’ve found one of the best ways to not only bring traffic to my site(s) but to also promote my chosen programs etc is via social networking of one form or another.
Most of us know about using forums to help spread the word and in the past I have mentioned sites like Squidoo and myLot etc. While none of these sites are not required for the NZPCS program two other new sites that I thought it might be worth taking a look at are:

Leaving A Comment - Five Tips When Commenting On Blogs & Articles -Â By Trish Anderson
1. Leave a comment. Even if you’re only going to say “Great stuff!” or “Love your work!”. That’s something at least for the writer who sits alone at their computer wondering if the writing life is really for them.
2. Encouraging words. Whether you like the article or not, always try to shape the language of your comment so that it reads as positive and encouraging. Constructive criticism travels further than a blatant flame. Remember that abruptness is easily taken as rudeness and will not help a writer improve their work.
3. Praise. If the article or blog has inspired, helped, educated you in some way, say so. A writer wants to know this and, again, your words will encourage further explorations into a topic.
4. Improving “sales”. In some article directories, leaving comments improves the ranking of individual authors/articles. If you have a favourite author, help them out by commenting on their articles whenever possible. Try to have something constructive to say. For some authors, comments are similar to sales. The more comments, or sales, the author achieves the more they know they are reaching an audience.
5. Generosity. Not every blogger can attract the number of comments some of the “high-rollers” can and not every blogger wants to. The reasons for opening a blog and continuing it are many and varied. Supporting some of the smaller blog sites with your comments can be the very straw that balances in favour of keeping a site open and up to date. Be generous with your words. They cost you little, but a worth much.

There are a variety of ways to use your computer to start earning an income online. For many that are first venturing into the world of working from home via the internet they will often start with what seems the easiest; paid to action type programs: paid to read, paid to click etc. while these can often be a good start to supplementing your income they can often be a long and in my mind boring process and can take quite awhile before reaching a decent payout level.
Others may try their hands at online surveys (these have proven reasonably successful for me) which are a bit more fun and the rewards are a little better, though in some instances once you’ve reached payout you may have to wait several months to receive your payment.
For those that want more than a little extra pocket money each month though, they will soon realise that they need to put in a little more time and effort (at least initially) to build an ongoing residual income. The best way to do this is to start creating your own websites and/or blogs and using affiliate programs to monetise those sites.
This can seem rather daunting at first as many will think it’s too hard as they have no idea how to go about creating their own websites or blogs. Thankfully though for those that want to try it but have no idea how to go about it there is plenty of help available. Many of these offer ways to earn while you’re learning how to build your online business so with each step you can quickly see the benefits. And once you’ve taken the plunge and built your first webpage or blog it doesn’t take long to see just how easy and rewarding it can be.
One program I strongly recommend to teach you how to build and earn from your blogs or websites is the NZPCS Million Dollar Blue Print Program. This program provides step by step instructions, video guides, many free tools and resources to help you earn online, along with a regularly updated question and answer forum and one on one coaching via Skype.
If you’d like to know more about this program please visit NZPCS Program and sign up for more information (your details will never be shared) or leave a comment here and I will be happy to provide you with any assistance you need.
There are many other ways to earn online but these are probably the most common. No matter which you choose I wish you lots of success as you build your work from home business.
